The Montana Esthetics Conference returns June 6-7, 2027, in Billings with a two-day program built around education, product and brand exploration, demonstrations, recognition and regional professional community.
The origin story is unusually clear. Conference creator Broox says she built the event after years of traveling for continuing education and seeing how expensive and difficult that travel can be for Estheticians in the region. She also points to another reality of the profession: many Estheticians work as the only skincare professional in a salon, which can make professional community difficult to build locally.
That makes the conference more than another date on the calendar. It is a regional response to access.
The NBEW Lens
There is something familiar in the reason the Montana Esthetics Conference exists.
Founder Broox has described years of traveling for continuing education and seeing firsthand what that travel costs Estheticians in both time and money. She also recognized another challenge familiar to many professionals in the field: being the only Esthetician in a salon or working largely on your own can make professional community difficult to find.
The conference grew from that gap.
NBEW was built from a different place and for a different audience, but there is common ground in that instinct: when the professional space you need does not fully exist, sometimes you create it.
For Montana, that meant bringing education and connection closer to Estheticians who had been traveling elsewhere to find it. For NBEW, it means creating a place where Black Estheticians and the professionals who serve melanated skin are centered in the larger conversation about Esthetics.
That shared sense of building around an unmet need makes the Montana Esthetics Conference especially interesting to NBEW. Its story is not simply about bringing another conference to Billings. It is about what can happen when someone pays attention to what professionals around them are missing and decides to build accordingly.
NBEW Note
The conference offers separate professional and student pricing, with lower early-bird rates available in January. Tickets cover both conference days, while the MEC Mixer requires a separate ticket.
Attendees interested in the event swag bag should also watch the purchase deadline: organizer guidance places it in early May 2027.
